finally, i've finished this dragon. it took me about a month of hard work... this time i wanted to paint something what i can be proud of. and, of course, the main reason was that my wardroube looked so...bold.
approximatly 50-60 hours, watercolour with ballpen outlines on 1,20 m x 40 m usual paper (if you see some strange lines in the picture, no, you have no eye-cancer but i had to glue 4 A3 together cos i didn't have such a big peice of paper (and cardboard sucks i think i'll submit a few close-up-looks later, would be pity if you don't see the details FULLVIEW PLEASE!!!! so, ich muss noch was in (in? auf!) deutsch loswerden: ich glaube, ich werde nie wieder eine schuppe malen können... ich träume schon von feuerroten schuppen, die irgendein gothik-liedchen summen... (oh ja, gothik-liedchen... maike, dieses bild ist dir gewidmet. sei froh. möge der mächtige drachengott dich beschützen auf deinem kleinem inselchen. ich komme bald nach here are some details: [link] EDIT : I edited the picture with PS, tried to fix the worst things (yay, the lines disappeared^^) and the colours are more like in the original picture now (i hate my camera, it's just a cheap bunch of crap). well, and i added a frame... look better i think^^ AND: the dragon has a name! "rising dragon" was a stupid title and i liked the name "Nizkaram" for a mighty fire dragon, whose anchestor were the sundragons themselves, admired as bringer of light and warmth but also feared as bringer of death and destruction... It's tough to do watercolors this well, really. The pose and coloring is excellent, very unique as dragons go.
